Name that Fruit

Postby Halfbreed07 » September 3rd, 2014, 1:38 pm

We bought this at La Vega, cant recall the name.
It had about 5 seeds that was surrounded by flesh that looked similar in colour to mango. That was all that was edible, as the flesh closer to the skin was fibrous. It tasted like mammy-seepot (sp), with the consistancy of Koa.
Anyone knows its name?

yupp, with the fruit in its normal upright position, its never wise to cut them horizontally to eat them since you will most likely be cutting seeds open

I am not sure if you actually need eat seeds or if the flesh contaminated with cut seeds is enough
anyone willin to find out?

Think its because they have a naturally high concentration of cyanide in the seeds....
