All jokes aside, places like Sweden will welcome them with open arms because of their background, and will give them free housing, allowance, vehicles and jobs for them, so they could take a try there and might come out even better than Trinis/Trinidad If they GT.

Or if not they could just return to TT and share their newly obtained knowledge and experience to their local branch the Unruly isis gang. If this happens I hope we can see local gang warfare escalate to RPGs/rocket/missile/bombs/etc instead of the normal dotish lil chittin tail Quami firing 2-3 bullet and running and hiding and only killing 1 or 2 max.

Been a while since we heard from our nationals who migrated to live in the new Caliphate.

Lawyers representing a group of T&T nationals and their children who were left stranded in refugee camps following the collapse of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have threatened to file yet another lawsuit over the failure of the State to facilitate their repatriations. The latest legal threat came in a pre-action protocol letter sent to National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds late last week by lawyers for Raheema Khan, who is acting as coordinator for the families of the refugees. It comes as three groups of the refugees are currently appealing the dismissal of similar lawsuits over the issue.

In the correspondence, obtained by Guardian Media, Khan’s legal team sought to describe the living conditions at the Al-Hawl refugee camp in Syria where many of the refugees are housed.
“The camp has been reported as highly unsafe for both women and children. Gunfire and malnutrition are commonplace,” they said.

They claimed that the Ministry of National Security and Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs could easily facilitate their repatriations using diplomacy. “The Republic of T&T has diplomatic relations with Turkey and Syria. In addition, T&T has diplomatic links with other members of the United States of America (USA)-led coalition forces that still support the Syrian Democratic Force’s existence in Syria,” they said.

They noted that in August 2018, former national security minister and current Energy Minister Stuart Young appointed a multidisciplinary and multi-agency team dubbed the “Nightingale Team”, to consider the possible repatriation and reintegration of the refugees.

Well, once they know their country has abandoned them.

We do not need terrorists and their terrorist children broughtupsy. There is a time when we have to honor human rights but you lose those rights when you choose a path that brings harm and suffering to others. Lil late for sad stories.

Didn't these same people voluntarily went to work for ISIS as they were paying $500 USD per day at the time? Why are they suing exactly? IT was their choice to get themselves into that situation fully well knowing what was going on.

Oh, hello there maxipad.

Folks were getting worried, as you haven't posted in over 10 minutes, which is unusual.

We assumed they finally deported your short fat Guyanese rass back to Georgetown. But I guess you were busy taking selfies outside Excellent Stores.

Correct is right.

The only people I feel sorry for are the children. But no one know how they have been indoctrinated already and may pose a security risk years down the road.

Activists call for Trinidad to repatriate citizens detained in Syria as ISIS suspects

Human Rights Watch on Tuesday called for Trinidad & Tobago to repatriate more than 90 of its citizens who have been detained as Islamic State suspects and family members in war-torn Syria, noting that at least 56 of them are children.

Trinidad and Tobago: Bring Home Nationals from Northeast Syria
Unlawfully Detained Trinidadians at Risk, Including 56 Children

Over 90 nationals of Trinidad and Tobago, including at least 56 children, are unlawfully detained in life-threatening conditions as Islamic State (ISIS) suspects and family members in northeast Syria, Human Rights Watch said today. The government of Trinidad and Tobago has taken almost no action to help them return, even as countries including the United States and Barbados repatriate their own nationals.

Conditions in the camps and prisons holding Trinidadians and other ISIS-linked suspects and family members are increasingly dire. Turkish airstrikes in November 2022 hit a security post at one camp, killing eight guards, and came perilously close to striking one of the prisons. Health care, clean water, shelter, and education and recreation for children are grossly inadequate. Mothers interviewed by Human Rights Watch said they hide their children in their tents to protect them from sexual predators, abusive camp guards, and ISIS recruiters and fighters. Children have drowned in sewage pits, died in tent fires, and been hit and killed by water trucks, and hundreds have died from treatable illnesses.

“Trinidad and Tobago is turning its back on its nationals unlawfully held in horrific conditions in northeast Syria,” said Letta Tayler, associate crisis and conflict director at Human Rights Watch. “The government should bring home its citizens, help those who are victims of ISIS rebuild their lives, and fairly prosecute any adults linked to serious crimes.”

Were they a part of a peace keeping missionary to Syria and they and their children go stranded there or were they attempting to do something nefarious?

Was seeing a case about a former British citizen turned ISIS affiliate that lost her appeal to retain British citizenship. The only country that willing to accept her is Bangladesh.

All I hadda say is if their fortune continued under ISIS, the only thing they'd want to do to their country is cause extremist mayhem. If Bangladesh doesn't want them, Sentinel Island hay have a use for them.

This situation with the children is heartbreaking.. some of them were probably babies when their idiot parents took them to join daesh. The difficult decision is whether to bring only the children and split the families, or bring back the children with their parents.

It should also be noted that Trini is the same country that let that idiot Yasin (may God have mercy on him) walk about freely after a coup, where blood was shed and people died. So if for him, then why not for the children.

Honestly don't follow up on these locals
Apparently this fool Umar Abdullah was recruiting people,
and he should have to answer for that, in a criminal or at least a civil court.

https://newsday.co.tt/2018/01/20/im-no-terrorist/

He also seems to be a self-proclaimed "activist"; in my mind, that means "protest-organizer",
and if that is his situation, then he and those who follow him should know that

there is no "protesting" or "demonstrating" in Islaam.

I hear that sentiment, but it's also a very broad brush, blanket statement.

If trinidad has room for all the "pests" in laventille and caparo, and registration for Venezuelan children and their parents (not to mention all the Caricom/Jamaican/Grenadian/Guyanese folks we turn a blind eye to), then why not asylum for children-nationals who want to return? Put them down the islands, but at least bring them home. Seems like a two-faced position to have. Especially since these are or were children. Would be interesting to hear what the Children's Authority's take on this is.

I seen too many scenarios where people put their head on a block for innocent children then find out is a bunch of devil they were rooting for.

Fk them kids.
