Cake Stand Built assistance

Postby drunkenscorpion » July 23rd, 2014, 2:39 pm

Guys, a good friend of mine is getting married and wants to have a cake stand built for her wedding cake.....joy joy...that job has befallen to me. Called a few places and they only rent, and dont have the particular style that she wants. Any assistance as to where or whom I can get it built by?

Its a 4 tier square cake pattern similar to the round style below.

Just an idea since. That doesn't look to hard make, get the measurement of the cakes. Buy a piece of lexan plexiglass I guess a thickish piece. Find someone who knows how to work with the plexiglass

They should be able to cut the shape out flat and bend the plexiglass to support the cakes. The entire think should be one piece. If you put lights around, it the edges should glow.

if that's the style you want you're gonna have to build it yourself. If you want a standard one, you can buy the columns, bases and platters and construct it to whatever height you want and just place them accordingly on the table. Locally you can get the parts at Naipaul's Craft store Arima, Tulip's on Ariapita Avenue and Ocaziao which has 2 branches Bradford City Mall on Henry St and Agra St in St James, the last place I recommended has several options such as paper, plexi, plastic etc so I'd suggest you check there first.

btw these things are costly and if it's a one off event you'd do better to rent it
