i hear bout a red oman, not a man. but me eh make meh rounds today. tomorrow i might get some news about what went on.

just thursday some flasher in a car was showing his stuff to some small children around that same area, in the back roads. he was prevented from leaving by the locals, and detained until the police arrived.
apparently, he had a record of sexual offenses, and was noted to frequent this area some years ago, though either situation may not be connected to each other.
investigations are continuing.

The woman was found dead around or after 5:30am this morning in the car park of Turning Peak Bar (formerly Turning Point Bar) in La Romain. This is a popular and busy area where taxis and maxis turn in the yard. The news say she is from nearby Temple Street. Body had no visible signs of violence. It could possibly be she got knocked down while standing there or she had a heart attack or just wait for the autopsy results tomorrow.

Hearse runs out of gas with dead woman’s body inside

THE removal of the body of a 52-year-old La Romaine woman was delayed for more than an hour yesterday after the undertakers’ vehicle stalled at the scene because it ran out of gasoline.

The body of Vonetta Lemo remained in the hearse, parked at Hector Street, for more than an hour, as two employees of Clark and Battoo Funeral Home went in search of fuel.

Lemo, of Temple Street, was discovered dead at around 4 a.m. by passersby at Hector Street, in front of a Play Whe booth, a short walking distance from where she lived.

Police said there were no marks of violence on Lemo’s body.

An autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre in St James yesterday determined that she died from heart failure.

Police said Lemo was described by relatives as a substance abuser and was last seen on Sunday at around 9.30 p.m. headed to a bar nearby.

A party of police officers headed by Sr Supt Cecil Santana visited the scene.

The body was examined by district medical officer Dr Silochan who ordered its removal.

The undertakers had placed the body in the hearse, but the vehicle failed to start.

With the vehicle manned by police officers, the undertakers left and returned after almost 45 minutes with two canisters of gasoline.

PC Julansingh is investigating.
