The Queen will step down ... as prophesied

Postby bluefete » May 7th, 2013, 9:28 pm

"The Queen will step down when her husband Prince Phillip steps down."

This was a prophecy given by God to someone I knew several years ago.

Its fulfillment has started. A long but very informative read.

As the Queen prepares to scale back her role... it's Charles's chance to prove he is ready to be King

By Richard Kay and Geoffrey Levy

PUBLISHED: 22:50 GMT, 7 May 2013 | UPDATED: 00:38 GMT, 8 May 2013

Every twitch of her face, every dip in her voice, every gesture, indeed any sign of decline or weakness, will be scrutinised as never before as the Queen, 87, unveils the Government’s plans at the State Opening of Parliament today.

And who will be alongside her and 91-year-old Prince Philip? The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Image
Long way off: Under existing law, the prince could only become regent if the Queen were either mentally or physically too 'infirm'... [or] 'incapable' of 'performing the royal functions'

What we are witnessing is a significant shift in the delicate balance of monarchical responsibility between an aged Queen and a long-time heir approaching his 65th birthday.

Image
And you are? Prince Charles chats to a guest at the reception for British Caribbean Communities at St. James's Palace

Charles’s desire to assume greater and more official responsibility, and the Queen’s need to do less, is being meaningfully addressed.

Palace advisers know that, although in good health, the Queen wants to cut down on the number of overseas trips.

Image
Camilla meets former BBC news reader Moira Stewart. Although the Queen refused to receive her for several years she is now very much one of the family

She doesn’t like travelling without Prince Philip, 92 next month, and she is increasingly concerned about his health and anxious not to put too much strain on him.

The question is whether Charles’s enhanced role needs to be formalised in any way. This is why there have been tentative talks – very tentative at this stage – about him taking on a bigger role that would virtually make him ‘co-head’ of the royal family.

There will be surprise, even shock, that this idea of a kind of regency is being considered. After all, the Queen, despite her great age, is fit and well.

What has encouraged such talk, even as a possibility, is what has been happening elsewhere in the world, with an aged Pope standing down and 75-year-old Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands smilingly handing over her throne to her son.

In Britain we are not thinking, and certainly not talking, of abdication. That will never happen.

The bitterness over the abdication of the Queen’s uncle, King Edward VIII, 77 years ago left an indelible mark, and at the start of her own reign in 1952, the Queen vowed to serve the nation for the whole of her life. She would never go back on that.
(This is not within the Queen's control. God's prophecy will be fulfilled in the order in which he gave it and in due time)

But well-placed sources say there have ‘been discussions between the Palace and Whitehall about the Queen scaling back her role’.

With perfect timing, we now learn that Prince Charles, rather than the Queen herself, will welcome Commonwealth heads of government at their get-together in November in Sri Lanka.

For the first time – and so much sooner than expected – it will be the Prince of Wales who is centre stage in that traditionally jolly photograph of the sovereign surrounded by leaders of the Commonwealth family of nations.

Yes, Sri Lanka is ten hours’ flying time away, but for the Queen not to go to the conference – which takes place every two years and is one of her favourite trips – is bound to be a great disappointment to her.

‘She laughs that it is like being a doctor,’ says a friend, ‘seeing four Prime Ministers in the morning and four in the afternoon, and they all want to talk about their problems.’

For Charles, the gathering offers the unique opportunity of introducing Camilla to the heads of those states whose approval would have to be sought in order, eventually, to make her his Queen.

But let’s not be hasty. For the moment we are talking about what one close figure describes as ‘talks about talks’, rather than formal discussions.

From the Queen’s point of view, recent years have produced a troubling paradox in her life.

On the one hand, the affection and respect in which she is held by the people – and indeed the rest of the world – has been growing and, since last year’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, has never been higher.

On the other hand, she has been worried about the two most significant men in her life, Philip and Charles.

She lives by the maxim ‘I have to be seen to be believed’ and across the decades has rarely been seen without Philip. Where she goes, he goes.

But Philip’s great age makes it increasingly difficult for him to continue to be the brilliant consort that he has been for 65 years.

‘She sees Philip’s role alongside her as having been pivotal to the success of her reign, and she fears that unless she cuts back, he might push himself too far,’ says a courtier. ‘Last month he was fulfilling official engagements in Canada.’

Image
The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen spent the entire four hours of the Jubilee rive pageant on the Thames on their feet, braving the wet and cold wind. Afterwards Philip fell ill and spent some days in hospital

Her worries have been magnified by his being ill and in hospital three times last year. Five months after Philip had a heart operation, he and the Queen spent the entire four hours of the Jubilee river pageant on the Thames on their feet, braving the wet and cold wind on a day that was more like November than June.

In order to display his uniform of Lord High Admiral of the Fleet (a position to which the Queen lovingly appointed her old sea dog husband as a 90th birthday present), Philip had no top coat.

Afterwards he fell ill and spent some days in hospital, missing the rest of the Jubilee weekend including the concert at Buckingham Palace and the firework celebrations to mark his own 91st birthday.

The relaxed manner in which Prince Charles took centre stage at the concert and called for three cheers so loud ‘that my father will hear it in hospital’ hugely impressed many people, including his mother.

For a long time she has been acutely aware that her eldest child could be an old man before getting the job to which he was born – an age likely to be long after other men have retired.

Hence the birth of a notion that could now become a constitutional reality, of the Prince of Wales being promoted to ‘co-chairman’ of The Firm.

Under existing law, the prince could only become regent if the Queen were either mentally or physically too ‘infirm . . . [or] incapable’ of ‘performing the royal functions’.

It would require written testimonies from three of the following five figures – Prince Philip, the Lord Chancellor, the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Lord Chief Justice and the Master of the Rolls.

But the Queen is not infirm in any way. On the contrary, she is remarkably fit both mentally and physically for a person of her age – despite being in hospital earlier this year with gastroenteritis.
Right now, no one is sure whether changes to Charles’s position should be formal or informal. To make him ‘regent’ would clearly be a huge step that would require a change in the law.

He could be given an entirely new title – anathema to royal traditionalists but this is a royal family, remember, which has already made huge changes in recent times.

Indeed, the Queen has already given the clearest indication possible about her intentions by allowing Charles to reduce the roles of all but the most senior royals, creating the so-called ‘magnificent seven’ of Queen and Philip, himself and Camilla, William and Kate, and Harry.

At a stroke people such as Princes Andrew and Edward, and Princess Anne, were banished to the margins of formal royal life.

Bit by bit, Charles has been taking on some of the Queen’s roles. He chairs meetings of the Privy Council, he dispenses honours at investitures, he meets Government ministers as well as visiting foreign and Commonwealth representatives and diplomats.

But he does not see state papers, sign Government bills, receive arriving (or departing) ambassadors and High Commissioners, and does not have a weekly meeting with the Prime Minister.

The Queen welcomes his input, and where relations used to be somewhat strained between mother and son over his perceived extravagance and refusal to give up Camilla (for several years the Queen refused to receive her) there is now considerable warmth and harmony, and Camilla is very much one of the family.

Crucially, the stature of Prince Charles as the man to be listened to within the family has grown as Prince Philip has aged.

The Queen’s own life, meanwhile, has also been undergoing change.

She is spending more time at her favourite home, Windsor Castle, and less at Buckingham Palace. After weekends at Windsor, she used to be driven back to London on Monday morning, but these days it’s usually Monday afternoon.

Carpenters have lowered the dais on which she stands at investitures to ease the pressure on her knees when bending down to confer honours.

Image
Slowing down: The Queen doesn't like travelling without Prince Philip, 92 next month, and she is increasingly concerned about his health and anxious not to put too much strain on him

And recently, royal chauffeurs were instructed to pull up as close as possible to the Queen to minimise her walking.

For officials to be even talking about creating an exalted new position for Charles must be seen as the greatest possible compliment from his mother.
For him, it could be the ultimate opportunity to demonstrate to doubters that he really is ready to be king.

Charles, Prince Regent? Who knows? But then, they might come up with a completely new title.
Which could, of course, throw up a new and intriguing issue: what on earth would they call Camilla?

Charles and Queen in Royal jobshare: As Her Majesty scales back foreign trips, Palace gives Prince more prominent role

By James Chapman and Rebecca English

PUBLISHED: 07:45 GMT, 7 May 2013 | UPDATED: 23:48 GMT, 7 May 2013

The Queen plans to scale back her public duties and give Prince Charles a bigger role as ‘co-head’ of the royal family, well-placed sources have revealed.

Buckingham Palace and senior figures in Whitehall began discussing how to deal with the monarch’s advancing years several months ago, the Mail understands.

They concluded that her 64-year-old son – the longest-serving heir apparent in British history – should take a more prominent position representing the sovereign at key events, particularly those abroad.

Image
Important: The Queen is pictured in Perth, Australia at the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

In a sign of things to come, for the first time in 17 years the Queen will be accompanied by her eldest son at the State Opening of Parliament, which takes place today. The Duchess of Cornwall will also join them.

It follows the surprise announcement by Buckingham Palace yesterday that, in a 40-year first, the Queen will not attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference. Instead, Charles will take her place at the two-day event in Sri Lanka in November.

In the past 30 years, the Queen has completed almost 15,000 official engagements. She has held more than 610 investitures and undertaken 261 official overseas trips, including 96 state visits to 116 countries. She has visited Canada most, with 22 tours, Australia 16 times, New Zealand ten and Jamaica six.

Last year the Queen undertook 425 meetings, visits and investitures – 100 more than in the previous year. But she did not carry out any overseas visits, with the rest of the Windsors taking on trips abroad to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.

A typical working week this year involved bestowing honours on members of Team GB, including gold medal–winning heptathlete Jessica Ennis; meeting the new Archbishop of Canterbury; and being reunited with a survivor of the July 7 2005 bombings, whom she first met in the aftermath.

In 2012, the Duke of Edinburgh undertook 325 official engagements – 100 fewer than the Queen in the same year. The Duke of Gloucester attended 337, the Duchess of Cornwall 276, Prince William 88 and Prince Harry 61.

Aides reluctantly admitted what has been suspected for some time: that the monarch, who reached the age of 87 last month, was not up to making frequent long-haul trips.

But Charles’ presence at Parliament today suggests it is also part of the carefully-choreographed plan to share the burden of responsibility.

One senior royal source told the Mail the decision for the Queen not to go to Sri Lanka was part of a ‘wide-scale review’ of her travel plans, although they insisted that it was largely ‘business as usual’.

Aides were also swift to deny that Her Majesty’s recent ill-health – she was hospitalised in March for the first time in ten years after being hit by gastroenteritis – had anything to do with the development.

But the fact is that the elderly monarch, who still conducts more than 300 engagements each year, has been gradually scaling back her diary at home too and her illness was a clear sign that her legendary stamina can no longer be taken for granted.

The Queen now spends only about three days a week in London or away on official visits, and prefers to read her official papers over a long weekend at Windsor Castle.

In addition, she is understood to be concerned not to put too much strain on her husband, Prince Philip, who will be 92 next month and still accompanies her on most trips.

It is not long since he received hospital treatment for a heart condition and a recurring bladder infection.

The Mail has also learnt that there has even been tentative discussion of a change in the law which would be required to allow Prince Charles to become regent.

Historically, regents have only been created when the monarch is seriously incapacitated – for instance, when George III was mentally unwell.

Constitutional experts regard the idea of making Charles regent – an effective co-monarch – as a controversial and indeed unprecedented step while the Queen remains healthy.

Should it ever be contemplated, it would almost certainly require an amendment to the Regency Acts.

One well-placed source said the Queen would ‘never, ever abdicate’ given the unhappy family history which saw Edward VIII ‘abandon’ the throne in favour of the Queen’s father, George VI.

On the eve of her 21st birthday she memorably vowed to serve her country for the rest of her life, ‘whether it be long or short’.

‘But there is an increasing sense that she cannot go on as she has been,’ the source said. ‘She is approaching her 90s. She has extraordinary stamina for a woman of her age.

But some of the more challenging foreign trips are increasingly not possible for her and more particularly Prince Philip.

Prince Charles and Camilla are to attend the State Opening of Parliament today for the first time.

The royal couple will watch as the Queen sets out the government's plans for new laws for the year.

It is the first time the Prince of Wales has attended since 1996 and will fuel speculation that he is taking a more active interest in the role of monarch.

Charles and Camilla will travel in their own procession ahead of the Queen, Clarence House said.

Image
The Queen receives flowers from nine-year-old Ursula Hall, nine, as she arrives for the rededication of the newly refurbished Temple Church Organ at Temple Church

A Clarence House spokeswoman said: 'The Prince of Wales often supports the Queen on state occasions, and his and the Duchess's diaries were clear on this occasion.'

‘Her appointments across the board are going to be reviewed and Prince Charles, who is already doing more, will become more prominent.

‘What is being discussed is whether that happens informally, as it has been for some time, or whether something more formal is pursued.’

Yesterday’s short statement by Buckingham Palace that ‘The Queen will be represented at this year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting by The Prince of Wales’ belied the extent of thought that had gone into it.

The Queen, who has attended every meeting since 1973, views her stewardship of the Commonwealth as one of the most important legacies of her reign and would not have taken the decision lightly.

The next meeting is due to be held in 2015, when she will be 89. Unless it is held in London, her visit to the Perth meeting in 2011 may turn out to have been her last.

The decision to send Charles may also have been motivated by the fact that in recent years some Commonwealth countries have questioned whether the Prince of Wales should automatically become head of the Commonwealth when he becomes king.

Despite suggestions that the role move to an elected individual, the Prince feels strongly that it should be his, and his presence as the Queen’s representative can only strengthen his case.

Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma welcomed the decision, saying: ‘This decision reflects the wish of Her Majesty at this time in her reign to limit her long distance travel.’

Significantly, a decision about the future of Charles’s own son, Prince William, is due to be announced in two weeks.

It is believed that the second in line to the throne will quit his role as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot for an army ‘desk job’ which will allow him to take on more royal duties.

This will continue the move to get younger members of the royal family to take on more official business, which started in earnest last year when the Queen delegated all her foreign Diamond Jubilee travel to them.

That is not to say that she or Prince Philip, who recently returned from Toronto, won’t make any visits abroad at all. But they will, almost certainly, be extremely few and far between.

A palace source said: ‘From now on any long-haul trips will be looked at on a case by case basis.

There is no suggestion that the Queen’s diary will become less busy but it is part of an ongoing process looking at the Queen’s long-haul travel arrangements.’

According to the Queen’s official list of engagements, she has seven visits planned for the rest of this month, both with the Duke of Edinburgh.

Last night the couple attended the rededication of the refurbished Temple Church Organ in the City of London.

Let me give it to you exactly as he wrote it:

"Concerning the Queen:

On the morning of Thursday 28th of September 2000, I dreamt a messenger told me: 'The Queen will step down when her husband Prince Phillip steps down.'

The Lord reveals unto us as much as He wants us to know. We must be wise to pray, wait and watch for the fulfillment."

Duane, no man can predict the future. All the crystal balls of Yesenia Gonsalez-Adams cannot tell the future. Only God can and sometimes he shows some people what is to come. The only thing He does not really give is timing. If God gives timing for an event, you can be sure it will happen down to the millisecond.

Now empirical evidence cannot come until after an event. Otherwise, how would you get it beforehand?

As to the scoffers above, like all 'wise' humans, they totally miss the point when it comes to matters that are not of this world.

But that is okay because God makes the sun to shine and the breeze to blow on all his creations.

In due course (maybe about 2-3 weeks), more will be revealed.

This was a prophecy given by God to someone I knew several years ago.
how do you know it was given by God?

In due course (maybe about 2-3 weeks), more will be revealed.

what is the significance of the queen stepping down and charles taking over as apposed to dying on the throne later down and charles taking over later?

You totally miss the point.

Wait for it to play out and note the SEQUENCE of events.

Next thing you'll say god said she'll die

ALL of you are missing the point. It is easy to make fun of the things you do not understand.

It is also easy to understand why God's messengers were and continue to be laughed at over the years.

This is no Yesenia Adams foolishness where someone looked into a crystal ball or tarot cards and charged a set of money for rubbish.

But them again some of you would prefer top go that way and be disappointed.
