Importation of Vehicles

Postby djcarbon » February 24th, 2013, 7:47 pm

There was once a thread http://www.trinituner.com/v3/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=306285 that described the process for importing a foreign used vehicle. It seems to be gone.

Is there another thread I can refer folks to?

I read/heard very different methods to calculate the landed cost of vehicles.

There is this thread here: viewtopic.php?t=40772

Which a poster outlines a certain method of calculations...

http://www.customs.gov.tt/content/C&E%2 ... ochure.pdf

On this link it outlines the duty charges for vehicles and also the MVT for the vehicles on page 2 of the document.

I, myself, am not sure of the correct method of calculation as some people say that you pay 75% MVT on used vehicles and some say that you subtract $5 per cc in calculation of the MVT and others say that you pay 100% whether used or new. Hopefully someone who knows the correct procedure will post. If I find out I will be sure to post.
