Toyota Avensis

Postby trini_champ » November 3rd, 2012, 1:45 pm

As we all know the Toyota Avensis is a fairly rare car. You don't see too many of them on the road. I believe the only time they brought them in is in the PBR to maybe PBX range.

I recently started driving one and I want to change the deck. Now, it looks as if a standard double din Pioneer would fit but I can't verify on Amazon because of course they don't know about the Avensis in America.

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this issue and possibly recommend a good place for me to get the deck (if not Amazon) and even have it installed. Thanks.

depending on which radio you have the double din can be removed and any double din radio installed, some need a dash kit some don't, post a pic of your dash console

That could just be removed and a normal pioneer double din would work without any alterations needing to be made.

Cool fellas, thanks. I'm thinking I'll get the Pioneer AVH-P3400BH. I studying if I should change the speakers too. What's more important, a quality receiver or quality speakers?

the side pieces wold have to detach and placed on your new head unit.....

if you don't you would end up with spaces on both sides

Yea I'm hoping that those side pieces connect to the inside there and not to the deck itself so I can just slide the new deck in without any spaces on the side.

lol yea it is. It's kind of a strange place for a cup holder but there is also a little compartment by the hand break where I would usually rest any drinks or my phone etc.

Not sure what you mean by "cluster" but the dash has already started cracking right around where the steering wheel is. I tried to get it fixed from a fella in d bamboo but it doesn't look as if he did anything.

How did he attempt to fix it?

If by cluster you are referring to the area where the deck and other controls are.. When I changed the deck in a pajero that area got some major cracks and I had to get the entire thing replaced.. easiest deal for me was to go back to Diamond Motors.. it was easiest thing but not the cheapest thing..

No idea but it isn't fixed.

WRT the area around the deck, that's hard plastic so that won't crack just so.
