will keep trying

You always store whisky upright, the liquid alcohol reacts with cork/seal and over time it erodes it. Plus the cork/seal affects the taste.

One pointer is too keep the JW green as they no longer bottle the 15yr old.
Its a collectors investment item now.

It was recommended to me that bottles which has the cork/seal cover should be stored down due to the cork "drying & shrinking" & hence loss of contents in the bottle. Just as wines are stored.
Saw this happen to a couple of Bottles of El Dorado 15 & 21 year old that I have.
After laying it down the cork returned to original size & the seal returned.
I guess I have to do some more research on this.
Thanks for your input will definitely take it into consideration.

Picked up two more bottles of Green on a recent visit to Dallas old stock " at a very old liquor mart "
US $45:00

^^^ I know for wine it can be stored upside down and every now and then you have to turn the bottles to control the dregs . Not sure about the storage of rum.
With whisky it's a bit more volatile and reacts differently.

As for El Dorado, aim to get 25 year old, only 2000 bottles was produced so it's a limited edition.

Another limited edition, Altmore 21 year old. Tasted this one before I brought it. It comes alive with a slip and then a drink of water after. Good stuff this one.

i could drink vodka all day but appreciating good rum now.

Zoom what rums you recommend? I'm pretty content with 1919 because its literally one of the best rums i ever had, but want to see what else is out there outside of Caribbean. The el dorado 15 year is also really nice

I kinda like Captain Morgan, a bit water down but very tasty and drinkable. It's made for the European market and sells well over there. Other than that Muddy River , n 1919 .

Got some other more stuff from Johnnie Walker line ups, but not really worth posting.
Word of note Johnnie Walker Green is no longer made and Bottles are already fetching premium prices at auction houses. Bottles from Taiwan worth more that rest of the world.

The green was the least produce in the JW range and not that popular. Now it's gone it's become very popular and near collectors edition status.
