Why you limiting your choices to three laptops? i7 processor, 8Gigs of RAM and a huge screen will come with a powerful enough graphics card. When it comes to CAD and 3D, just get the biggest/most.

CAD on an 11" screen?

Don't get the dell or alienware, they're cheap and look good but the long term quality sucks.

If you like MacOS then go for the macbook pro. However, I do believe Apple may release MBPs with the high res retina displays in a couple months. If it's CAD you're doing get those!

If you need a windows PC, then get a high end Dell or HP (precision or elitebook), the quality is worth the cost trust me.

If by kids you mean doing heavy media and content creation, desktop publishing with thousands of fonts installed, working with gigabyte files as if they were kilobytes, music authoring, video editing, 3D rendering, movie-making... then yea.. myself and everyone in Hollywood and entire entertainment industry are kids.

As for AutoCAD... there are some things you just want to do on a PC for a variety of reasons. Just as you would do word processing or database, accounts and so forth.

Btw apple has increased your shareholding in AAPL by 100% for upholding the brand blindly. Congrats

Thanks :)
Imagine I saying DON'T by a Mac for AutoCAD and you telling me that.

I think it's because Macs get your laid and you're jealous.
