There's also 3 ODIs after the T20s.

Edit - They just announce the ODI series has been postponed to June 2022.

Bangladesh just beat NZ for the first time ever in a test match.

Otis Gibson is their bowling coach.

NZ is in transition. Williamson not there, Watling is retired, Taylor is in his last series.

Last night I saw someone put up a graphic on how much times since 2018 Watling has shepherded the lower order from bad or respectable totals to very good or great ones. That was clearly missing here.

Didn't expect the 4 prong pace attack to struggle so much though Southee, Boult, Jamieson and Wagner were bullying all and sundry the past year (more if you take out Jamieson)

WI made 269 all out. Brooks looks like a good batsman.... he made 93. Almost became the 2nd west Indian to score a century on ODI debut but Sammy goat mouth him. Desmond Haynes remains the only one to achieve that feat.

Ireland 28/1 in reply.

Ireland should easily win this here. The wicket has flatted out and easy for batting.

Now watching the WI Ireland highlights. WI with their blank Tshirt I'm assuming still hasn't been able to attract a sponsor.

The product not commercially viable for any reasonably sized Caribbean company.

Also this just popped up in my news feed. No cricket tomorrow.

Ireland on course to mash up the WI

WI 230 all out ( for the 2nd consecutive game, the WI have failed to bat out 50 overs against Ireland - IRELAND!)
Ireland - 156/4 (30.4 overs).

In 30 overs, the WI had barely crossed 100.

The Blings are losing versus the Blangs

I would say WI has found their level but Ireland seems to be above WI actually, they could've won 2 matches here but faltered in the chase in the last one.

True. Ireland has to believe in itself. They remind me of the WI when they have opponents on the ropes but do not know how to finish them off.

They may have to go D/L and if they do Ireland will win because they are ahead.

Any serious follower of Cricket would know that in the past 10-15 years WI have been pretty poor in ODIs. We definitely belong in a Tier II with the likes of Zimbabwe, Ireland, Netherlands etc.

In general WI not very adept at ODIs even before that. If I'm not mistaken they were the last Test team (including Ireland and Bangladesh) to successfully chase a 300+ target and have only done it that one time in 2019 against Ireland.

WI forever stuck in 20/20 mode. Seems to be producing 20/20 players also. No player actually cherishes their wicket and looks to bat deep into a innings playing proper cricketing shots. 24/7 slog. Just look at some of the dismissals non-nonsensical. No rotation of the strike either to build momentum and keep the runs ticking which is a constant. In this match alone, 20 something runs after 8 overs with close to 40 dot balls. That's terrible. Long way back for WI cricket. No shock that associate teams are constantly improving while WI are regressing. These teams are focused on improving and doing the right things.

Even in T20s WI do not have a strategy and are dated in ideas. Bash every ball was proven to be the wrong strategic move in the last WC.
Sensible and not duncy head cricket now applies to both T20 and ODIs for WI. We just can't have Mark Nicholas calling them Duncy

Fire the coach and get a whole new bunch of players from scratch whose heads are not blinded by "BLING"!

ALL WI teams are interested in only T20 with hopes to get a big T20 league contract. Look at the WI U19 team batsmen of this year to see how truly badly off we are. The U19 World Cup starting just now too.

WI on their way to another sound cut-ass from Ireland and a series loss.

WI - 212 ALL OUT (44.4 overs) For 3 consecutive games against Ireland, the WI have failed to bat out 50 overs. I could imagine the licks in store from England or whoever we are playing next.

Ireland - 74/2 (13 overs)

Let me say it again:

Simmons, Pollard, Pooran have to go!

It is time to start charging the WI team for losing. 80% of their match fee for every loss. Bet you everyman will buck up.

^ For real all of them have to go. They should do the right thing and resign from their relative positions though, if they don't then they don't give a damn about WI cricket because all those guys are already wealthy enough with IPL money for the rest of their lives.
