WI allowed one bowler to bowl 17 dot balls from his allotment of 24. In all India bowled 62 dot balls or 52% of the overs!!

WI are going to struggle in the T20 WC later this year as clearly haven't learned from the last T20 WC where the big bashers like themselves weren't the best teams.

The best teams were the ones who maximized singles and took the boundaries as they came.

Still hasn't watched a ball bowled, but just saw the scores on cricinfo, I see Polly came out to bat at the end of the innings and for sure we would lose. Not because of his poor performance but because he won't go against his IPL overlords and the hand that feeds him and hit out to win the game.

Some very interesting thoughts there DMan7. Very interesting!

I did find it strange that he did not even try to hit the last ball for 6, in a losing cause. That forward defensive stroke was most illogical.

That's why it's best to don't watch WI when they playing against India. Those guys know that the IPL feeds them and they shouldn't do anything to mess with that system.

The WI teams seems to be badly out of it and looks like a group not very excited about playing the game.
The situation is probably the cumulative effect of constantly admitting that batting is not constructively present.
Everybody just seem to be going through the motions and hoping for the best.
The fact that many of the individual players if participating in franchise tournaments seem to be completely different cannot be overlooked.

India just MURDERED the WI bowling - 184/5.

After 15 overs India had 98/4. Do the math for the rest.

WI up next.

He was from the rock and roll era .....alcohol, drugs, sex and he smoked heavily for years and battled weight issues.

Not to forget his rides on the white horse.

I'm sure a toxicology report will be done for the autopsy, because...it's Thailand. His past will bring that obvious question to the fore.

It's still shocking how the cricketing world has lost such a legend of his stature.

Sonny Ramadhin, Rod Marsh and now Shane Warne all gone in rapid succession.
This has to be one of the most shocking few days for the cricket fraternity.
Still processing all that is going on around us.
RIP to these greats.

warne paid tribute to marsh after he marsh died of a heart attack - then he died of the same thing mere hours later

https://newsday.co.tt/2022/03/04/australian-spin-legend-shane-warne-has-died/

AUSTRALIAN spin legend Shane Warne has died.

Warne, arguably the greatest leg-spinner of all time, died at his villa in Thailand on Friday from a suspected heart attack. He was 52.

A statement by his management team said, “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.”

Less than 13 hours ago, Warne paid tribute to former Australia cricketer Rod Marsh, who died from a heart attack on Thursday aged 74.

Warne finished his Test career with 708 Test wickets and 293 ODI wickets. He was an integral part of the dominant Australian team from the mid-1990s into the 2000s.

Happened in Thailand, most likely a drug overdose.

Kinda reminds of the cornel/chester dynamic in the rock world a few yrs ago, more so if drugs etc were involved.

I guarantee you Shane Warne OD'd on some shitty drugs he used in Thailand. That place is filled with so much freaking drugs and drug overdoses by tourists are a normal thing there.

Autopsy report said natural causes.

Not sure if they requested a toxicology report.
