I see England changed two fast bowlers - Wood and Overton out and Mahmood and Fisher in.

I really thought Phillip would've been given a run given the good form he's in and the fact that they're playing in Barbados ( usually quick wicket), also Permaul was ineffective in the last game.
Batting also looks suspect with the inconsistent Blackwood and Brooks but Mayers is the only other option. Reifer who made a 100 in the warmup is not in the squad. Mayers and him can also provide a medium pace option.
West Indies need to play a spinner and have him bowl his share of the overs else they'll continue to accumulate fines and lose test championship points for slow over rates. ICC making sure they can't go back to the days of 4 fast bowlers.

Whether VP should be the spinner is to be decided, but he earned his chance. Joseph could be replaced by Kyle Mayers. Seems like he mostly takes wickets when the batting side ready to declare.

My pardner was telling me yesterday that Jason Holder in the last few years have to be one of the most economical bowlers in Test cricket.

Looked at Cricinfo and he does indeed have the 2nd best economy rate since 2018 (frontline bowlers and bowlers who played at least 10 matches only as there were a number of part timers and newcomers who only bowled a few overs comparatively). The best economy rate was Jimmy Anderson.

Strike Rate wise Holder was way down in 52nd spot of something but it still higher than Kemar Roach's which I was surprised at.

England on 367/3 at lunch. Windies will probably be chasing around 500 before stumps today.

WI batting 174-3. When you consider WI came in 71-1 overnight nor much scoring has happened.
Unless something drastic happens from here on in that probability chart that have a draw at 52% will only keep rising.

Hope England doesn't make the same mistake as last match. They need to get a max lead of 250. Once they declare before lunch they have this game.

Somewhat following the Women WC. Pakistan beat WI in a rain affected match yesterday and I was shocked to see it was Pakistan's 1st win in 18 games in the WC going back to 2009 when they last beat.....WI!!!!

This affects WI making the semis.
The format is straight league where everyone plays everyone else and the top 4 moves forward.

Ah still laughing.

Great hundred by Joshua.

But, Joshua gave himself out and then asked for a review and was not out and had to come back out.

Finally all out for 297 now

Well, well, well.

England 101/8 (Extras 20) - Effectively 8/8

Karl Mayers - 5/9

Thank you Grenada for preparing a TRUE cricket pitch. Not like T&T, Barbados and Jamaica and Guyana who have a set of "drop-in" pitches.

Hopefully QPO take note for the tentative India series here in July/August.

Imagine how exciting the previous 2 Test matches would've been instead of 2 stalemates :|
Mayers is pretty handy with the ball and has a knack for picking up wickets, it's a pity he wasn't included in the other Tests.
