Nice response by the airport too. They sprayed the runway with fire retardant foam before hand and then after the plane landed.

Them plan ain't have a manual over-ride system to put down the landing gear,you have to crank it down ?

good thing the fire fighters spray the runway before with foam,,u see that engine sparking..or else it woulda be 'boom'!!!

Almost ALL commercial pilots I rate as bosses: The amount of training you need to do you'd damn well better be...

but IMHO the BEST i've seen this year was the Russians landing the TU154 ONLY with rudder and engine input after some technician wired the flight control system improperly: Plane oscillating like mad and had many points you wondering when it was actually gonna hit the ground... but they landed the sucker...

Hats off to them.

Actually the engines being so low strung were responsible for keeping the plane pitched up like that...even when it was sitting still the nose was pointed somewhat up.
