There are so many things that need fixing...but the constitution suits the party in power...so why change it?

Because trinis only demand three things: holidays, parties and alcohol.

will PNM undergo constitutional reform?

Postby desifemlove » July 17th, 2016, 2:07 pm

UNC attempted something, but not enough. What would PNM do?

Like, do we need a President? this is a copy of the British sovereign's role, but then it's a false duplicate imho since the British monarch's position evolved over centuries to where it is now, and it symbolises centuries of tradition and practice. the president's role and the voting system to me both need to change, maybe multi-member constituencies.

Didn't Patos try an Executive President type thing a few years aback?

constitutional reform is one of those topics people been taking about for years, like solving crime, like economic diversification, or tacking corruption. what T&T needs iz social change more than political. we need laws and a political change that curbs and cuts out slackness, that's the root of the issue.

Yup. Made some comments on state enterprise governance, term limits, transparency/accountability through open data, and some ideas for fixed basic annual salary increases with room for union negotiations as extras.

Right to bear arms anyone? This home invasion situation getting ridiculous now. The Commissioner should be mandated to approve FULs provided it have no ted flags e.g. no criminal record or someone 'known to police' etc.

the culture would have to be disciplined enough for gun ownership at that scale. but max is right about trinis. you going to end up with way more gun violence when every trini who get a hot head has access to tools that let them kill out 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, or 20+ people with efficiently. imagine a fella like broken with a gun. man just come and attack me early on a sunday morning jusso. Imagine what he would do when it have car show

Harsh penalties for illegal weapons with enforcement.

Legalize nonlethal shotguns for home/castle defense only. Use outside that zone will be considered illegal and carry the stiff penalties. Only issue this permit for people without criminal records.
