The fight was a classic and in my opinion, Mayweather was slighty on the advantage with Ortiz showing potential to meet and treat with his skills.

But in the fourth round, Ortiz gave what he described to Larry Merchant as a 'reaction' but to us viewers (and the ref), it appeared to be a diliberate headbut that opened up the bottom lip of 'Money'. The offender quickly apologized and after the ref had indicated the resumption of the bout, Ortiz apparently was filled with guilt as he forgot himself and the crafty Mayweather, after feigning a hug, released a viscious left quickly followed by a right bomb that sent Ortiz down for the night... and with a lesson or two for life
