A GASPARILLO man was rushed to hospital on Saturday night after he was chopped by a relative for playing loud music.
Bansraj Sookram, 29, of Parforce Road, was treated at the San Fernando General Hospital for several chop wounds to his back, police said.
Reports stated that around 11.40 p.m. Sookram was playing loud music in his car when a relative became annoyed.
Police said an argument broke out between the two and the relative picked up a Chinese chopper and dealt Sookram several chops on his back.
The relative then continued the rampage and smashed the back windscreen, back doors and windows of the vehicle.
Gasparillo police were called in and the relative who lives at Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, was taken into custody.
He was later charged with wounding with intent and malicious damage and is expected to appear in the San Fernando Magistrates' Court today to answer to the charges.
