get some bachac bait and some fipronil (regent), mix fipronil according to instructions, follow the trail to the nest, and pour bachac bait around the nest and as much fipronil into and around the nest as you can to saturate the ground.
Phone Surgeon wrote:i like to douse their nests with gas and throw a match lol
otherwise it have endless effective bachac bait
i regularly spray with red alpha and fastac so havent seen bachacs in years
pugboy wrote:question, when do farmers normally pick tomatoes ?
green or ripe on vine ?
seeing a lot of tomato on sale no but small sized ones.
Phone Surgeon wrote:Plenty of them does pick green and spray it with ethrin. Chemically turns red overnight
I'm not sure if what you wrote is correct. Ethrine/Ethrine Plus is an insectide.pugboy wrote:whoaPhone Surgeon wrote:Plenty of them does pick green and spray it with ethrin. Chemically turns red overnight
Phone Surgeon wrote:You're correct. Its ethylene
I think most imported tomatoes and alot of local tomatoes are subject to this practice. Ripe tomatoes don't last long in storage.
But a sun ripened tomato is a whole different kind of amazing taste.

pugboy wrote:so will there ever be local farmers who specialize in properly ripened tomatoes as well as other varieties other than what the seed sellers tout as the latest and greatest producing pest resistant variety each year ?

granted it’s not easy to put out the capital and risk loss due to pests etc
