well, he didn't resist by fighting, he just ran away from them, they seemed upset they had to get wet to catch him, better control should have been warranted by them when it came to that jab to the stomach.

as for unwarranted arrest thats bull sheit, there's a reason the bar of the field, doh flecking go on it!!!!!!

as for the crowd reaction, no respect for the badge and then they expect the badge to have respect for them, i not saying police have the right to be abusive but people fail to realise everything is a two way street. if you want respect give it!

for a minute thar i thought the rasta man was goin to get bull.

but that was not criminal behavior, and the numbers of police men there, he could have simply been escorted out of the stadium with no refund. but any further actions, though, then he could be arrested and detained.

the waving of the gun was reckless and unwarranted, that police officer should be given a warning and/or made to apologize publicly to patrons the next time there is a game.

See nothing wrong here, man fight up with them after the first side of the handcuff was put on.Officer was doing his duty & couldve used more force but 3rd word mentality again!Fight down the popo cause its the cool thing to do until the bandit have the gun on your temple. You would give anything to see that same officer you were bashing ent?

there is no need to brandish a firearm in a crowd like that he was not a violent/armed criminal
same situation and he slip in the rain and the gun discharges and kills someone innocent what would be the outcome?

You talking sheit man, the police doing their work and some arseholes decide to pelt bottles at them. No excessive force was used and I guarantee you if he was in another country his dotish arse would have got tazed as soon as he resisted. Is jackarse behaviour like this why the country in a mess

What I'm concerned about is that when the 1st officer approach him with gun in hand, he just put the gun back in it's holster and didn't secure it.
Things coulda turn real bad real fast.

Whoever launch that bottle was assaulting a police officer. A worst offense than what Ras did actually. They're lucky they didn't go up after them

Sorry but that man was an idiot..
I was there and there were about 4-5 guys before him who went out.. splished and splashed around and went back to their corners when they were done. This man came out after it all.. and decided he missed out on the fun.

The people who ran onto the field showed no respect for the Queen's Park Oval and what the sport of cricket stands for. Cricket is known the world over as the sport of gentlemen.. yet we have hooligans like that making us look bad on an international level.

What was so distasteful was that the police got boo'ed when they held the last two men, boo'ed by the crowd! WTF! Trinidadians disappoint me so much sometimes.

Exactly and that is the mentality of a lot of Trinis, wrong and strong. Then people wondering why the tickets cost more in Trinidad than the other islands.....

bottle thrown.... direction not 100% sure
what could have followed next?

tell me if a gun would be pointed at any time

As far as I see the rasta fella was not endangering anyone's life so there was really no reason to approach him with a gun. That officer endangered the patrons with that stupid action. If he held a baton in hand that would have been fine.

As for the fighting up part I think he was so drunk that he didn't know what the officer was doing and was trying to determine if he was going to cuff him from the front or back. As for the fans "booing", well that's just plain stupid as well.

ok, now see the bottle projectile,,, netbook frame rate real slow. the bottle was indeed a more serious offense than the hooliganism, but the approach to that is not brandishing a weapon.

rasta know is dotishness he doin, jus escort out de man by his pants and talk done.

only use force when force is necessary. the mere fact that the police decided to brandish his weapon, then wave it like a flag, shows that the said police ocifer is prone to grandstanding. the other officers were cool and did not over react. on the two instances where the police were in excess, something more terrible could have ensued. firstly the gun was not secured and could have been taken from the officer and the second a mishap could have occurred resulting in accidental firing.

ok, no, this misdemeanor needs to be dealt with strictly to punish the rasta and be an example for the other patrons. he should have been bludgeoned to death and his body decapitated and his head run up a flag pole. the bottle launcher should have been taken out by a sniper.

allyuh is sumting else, oui. want one set ah punishment for ah rasta bathing in the rain in the oval, then cry excess and barbaric force when a thief's hand is cut or a adulterer is stoned in an islamic country.

There were other officers there brandishing batons..
One officer was able to wave his baton at a would be "jumper over the fencer" and the young man high-tailed it back over the fence and into the stands.

I will say one thing.. this rast man was originally on the far left of Carib Stands and after a big belly man in a red jersey caught his arse to jump the fence and went swimming.. Mr. Rasta ran out of the stands.. straight up to the fence.. paused for a milli-second before scaling that fence and making it look like a bench. Rasta looked like he was very versed in scaling fence.

At present Victory has the second highest arrest and conviction rate in the Laventille, Beetham area, size has nothing to do with it.

they run out, had their kicks, and left. they should not have come back. they over did it when they came back so he deserved to be arrested. but the flaunting of the firearm was reckless nevertheless
