Ziv Veloso, 23, pleaded guilty to larceny, when he appeared before San Fernando Fourth Court Magistrate Alicia Chankar.
Last Thursday, Veloso and another man went to a doubles stand around midnight and ordered and ate $68 worth of the delicacy. The men then walked away.
The victim, who operates at the corner of the Southern Main Road and Market Street, Marabella, made a report to the police.
Veloso and another man were later spotted walking in Marabella by constable Bahadur.
Veloso, of San Fernando, was represented by attorney Hansraj Bhola.
Chankar ordered that the labourer pay the vendor $68 immediately or spend six months in jail. He also has to complete 200 hours of community service, as assigned by a probation officer. In default, Veloso will return to court for conviction and sentencing. He is to meet the probation officer today. —Nikita Braxton-Benjamin
