Plane crash in St. Lucia *Updated*

Plane runs off the runway in St. Lucia...

A small plane ran off the Vigie airport runway just after 11am on Wednesday. The fire service, stationed at the airport, responded to the crash immediately and the pilot was taken out unharmed.

Unofficial reports are that the pilot had landing gear problems and had tried at least three times to land before he ended up crashed into the fence on the side facing the Vigie beach.

There is a scheduled briefing for later this afternoon with SLASPA officials, NEMO personal and emergency response officers.

Castries ???? That airport runway scary, used to be there 2 or 3 times a month for H.O.S.L.....plane lands and immediately reverses engines to stop or you on the roadway. Glad to know that everyone is ok.

Yeah its GFLC , guess they will have to investigate what happened before they allow other planes to land there.... but who knows anything is possible in the Caribbean
