Tuner Friends,

Anyone know anywhere that repairs hingeless rimless glasses? The frame is attached to the lens directly and it came off.

The few places I went to said that there is risk to damaging the lens because the frame is attached directly to the lens and it might require soldering etc....so I have to get a new one.

Would really like to repair this one. Thanks for any help.

Micro welding? There's someone who posted an ad here about it.

If the frame is steel, it can be brazed or silver soldered by a jeweler. If your frames are something else like titanium, you may need micro-welding. Micro-welding equipment can be similar to TIG process welding. Some tool and die shops are able to do micro-welding.

I don't know of a shop that does it in Trinidad and Tobago but you can try Gormandy's Engineering in Port of Spain. I suggest that you call them and a few others.

Measure the metal cross section at the break (I'm guessing 0.020 inches/0.5 mm) and tell them that you are repairing titanium eyeglass frames.
