Waterloo is fine, prob something on the other side of the main rd.

In an unrelated note, I've been having an issue where my devices drop internet, but remain on WIFI. I have to basically turn wifi off and back on for it to resume. I'm using the Arris white modem's builtin wifi with 2.4ghz and 5ghz active.

It's been happening on a number of devices - ios, macos, android. Some on 2.4, some on 5. (older ones don't have 5 capability)

Very odd, I wonder why.

I used inSSIDer to see if I'm getting signal overlaps with the neighbours, but my signal is plenty stronger than the surrounding, with only one weak overlap on the 2.4ghz and none on the 5.

This started happening to me about 2 months ago.

Then about 1 month ago it progressed to the stage after it drops internet, the wifi network disappears shortly after.

After calling Flow and going through some troubleshooting on the phone with them, they sent a technician to check the lines and modem.

In the end they had to end up swapping out my white Arris modem for another similar one. Problem has since resolved.

Had a similiar issue but I use my own router.
Changing the modem fixed it.

Update, they dispatched a tech the very next day I made the report.
He double checked signal, all was good.
Just swapped in a new Arris dual band and all good since. That was a few weeks ago.

Oh ok. I miss those old black modems. Those were solid. These white ones finicky when they ready and I talking about just using it as a modem. Never actually used wifi on a flow modem.

FLOW customers get upgraded

Martin-Sulgan said the company understood that in the pandemic there would be need for increaseed broadband speed, especially with online schooling and work-from-home being the order of the day.

“The campaign was launched on October 1 and we will be going throughout the country and upgrading customers’ speed. FLOW is putting its money where its mouth is and is improving in areas that need to be boosted. We are fully aware that people are cutting back on their expenses, hence why the company has embarked on such initiative,” said Martin-Sulgan.

Raise speed raise price incrementally year round... Offer "free speed upgrade" at no extra cost for 6 months and then boom... Price increases for package using and cycle starts over.. That's their formula

Yea. True. Thankfully I'm on a loyalty package that doesn't raise. I don't get price increases but most of the time I don't get speed increases like this either. Right now with 150/15 I happy.

Seems to have issues with Flow landline. When you attempt to make calls to TSTT or Digicel, getting a mix of busy tones and circuits are busy.

I usually get around 60ms and now im getting higher than that. So getting alot of latency & slower speeds.

Wondering if this is a prob on their side before i call them and raise my blood pressure.

Asus AC68U. 150 down/15 up package.
My ping is usually 50-60 on both 5ghz and 2.4ghz; with max speed on 5ghz and around 100 down on 2.4ghz.

It’s back to the normal 50s now on my end.
Thank god I didn’t have to call and have them blame my router, to then spend 15 mins “diagnosing” to convince them.
