All of a sudden there is a red X on the battery icon in the system icons tray with an error ‘Consider replacing your battery’. Now since this laptop is less than a year old, I didn’t think that the battery would need replacing so quickly. So I googled the error and low and behold, is not I alone have this problem. Apparently, it an error / bug with windows 7. (check links below). Has anyone else encountered this problem?

The thing is I search for a fix but came up empty handed. Can any tech-tuners help me fix this problem? Or do I have to buy a new battery? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

a 4.0Gb machine running 32bit, thats not the OEM software.
but that ID is an older build, hence my suggestion you try a newer one.

test the batt to see if it holding charge
sounds like a mobo problem though because even with a windows issue it would still boot to at least the bios
