I always imagined that one day we would be able to stream 4K more efficiently over low bandwidth like 2G. Imagine the possibilities when phones will be capable of the current video processing power of a RTX 3080 and connected cloud 5G central processing. Holograms!

Windows 10’s October 2020 Update, also known as the 20H2 update, is here. This update is focused on bug and performance fixes, but it has some larger changes—like the removal of the System Control Panel.
To install the update the official way, head to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Click “Check for Updates.” If the update is available for your PC, you’ll see “Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2” here. Click “Download and install” to get it. If the update isn’t available for your PC, that suggests Microsoft isn’t confident it will perform well on your PC’s hardware yet.

I got the Zotac today and set it up with the 16 GB ram and ssd.
Boot time is fast and drivers all work. Neat lil footprint as well. Hardware easy to install and windows 10 install was smooth.
Landed cost for the PC was US$24. No taxes. Shipped with Aeropost. Got it delivered to skybox last Wednesday and received items in hand today.
So the Zotac, ram, ssd, webcam and Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse cost me US$635. Landed cost for those items which came in 4 packages was US$62. Total Landed cost for the PC TT$4,732. Not bad at all as similarly spec'd name brand systems in small or mini form factors were > the US$635, primarily because of the size of ram I wanted.
I have to buy two monitors now. Any ideas where I can get two Full HD monitors, possibly touch screen, to purchase locally? I don't want to bring in thru skybox as I received a cracked screen TV twice already (once with skybox, the other with sea freight when a friend sent one for me), and don't want the headache of this again.
Good link there man. Thanks again...
Can't go wrong with a 3070 for your res and frame rate target. It is not overkill. You'll want to make sure your cpu is up to scratch. You'll want the highest clocking chip you can find, 5ghz and up. 6 cores would be fine for a bit of future proofing.ulquiorra.tt wrote:What would be the best card for a 1080p 144Hz monitor setup to use max settings and future proof for a while? Is the RTX 3070 good for this or overkill? Do you think whatever might replace the 1660ti's price range (about $275 USD) after the 3000 series settles would likely to be suitable for that, and could be expected to be out around Feb 2021 (a year after the 1660 Ti release)?
Thanks.

You probably won't get a 3070 in your hand until maybe the second quarter of 2021 at the earliest.
Captain Awesome wrote:An i5 close to 5ghz certainly won't be underpowered, however at that res, you'll be leaving a little bit of the 3070 power untapped, but by no means will the experience be bad.
