Putting together a system for my parents and I might just end up getting the damn case locally because of shipping costs.

I'd check wizz, regular cheap case. Just watch out for sharp edges.

Speaking of which, anyone here did a DDR5 build as yet?

Would like to know if I should skip that gen and wait for a DDR6 build cuz I just ordered some more RAM online to expand my memory, just regular DDR4.

Well ddr5 goes with the new cpu and chipsets so it’s no easy upgrade. From all stress tests the main benefits comes to workstation and server side of things because of the speeds. For gaming/editing and 90% of users I would say don’t overall skip the generation but it needs more time to get integrated for the average user

Yea and it only available for intel processors / motherboards for now. Soon AMD coming out with their AM5 boards and new gen ryzen with the DDR5, should be interesting at least.

sensor panel is life. had an old dell 15" monitor with firestorm, hw info, and various widgets, to monitor the system specs.

Use disk manager and format it, it should show up after formatting and a reboot, check bios as well to see if it’s recognized correctly

Try booting from a Linux based media and see how the drive is read. I've done that numerous times before when Windows was giving issues reading drives for some reason or the other.

Go AMD, the new Ryzen 7000 series processors are coming out soon and they have beaten the fastest and latest Intel processors in performance.

if u haveeee to rebuild, then amd.

jayz2cents was trying it, and he thought sumting was wrong cause it was repeating the bios set up. it ended up being that it was auto tuning the ram timings. it put a setting, try it, reboot, try another setting, and rebooted itself till it got an optimum timing...
thats neat.

Power supply would be decent for most components today. Intel might have launched their latest series (13th gen) but it hasn't made it to retail just yet; it is expected in October

You are most likely looking at a memory upgrade as well as if you are still using DDR3
