WTK republic bank visa travel money

Wanted too know if anyone uses the visa travel money card (VTM) from republic bank as a credit card replacement and if they had any problem shopping online.

Example issues due too the address being local etc.

Yes you can use it to shop online, but not all merchants accept it. I believe you have to pay a fee whenever you add money to it in the bank.

Call the bank, and get a direct answer, would be quicker and more direct.

yes u can.it jus like a credit card.Prob better
5000 usd limit u and transfer
1% charge for loading card.thats it!

no issues with it thus far.n the best part is, u only put money on it when u need to especially if u r online banking.it piece of cake

was doing googling and research on this visa travel money card and there is only one thing i wish to find out hopefully one of u can answer me.

I want to get this card but what i want to know is if they mail your adress...if they do is there an option to disabled being mailed?

when you say mail? like monthly statements? then no. When you do sign up for one i advise you to get internet banking and the republic id secure card, that way you check up on the card balance and monitor the charges made to the account. Also,once you have an account with republic, you do not have to wait in line and the 2 business days for any funds to load onto the card, you can do it online in like 2 minutes and it loads instantly

oh and you should put a skybox address if you have one as an alternative billing address since some sites don't ship outside the us

once you get the card and its activated go online to republic's website and register for online banking, they will ask you if you want the id secure card also, make sure and tick that off, without it you cannot perform any transactions online. you submit it, and print out the page and carry it into any republic branch. In a few days (can't remember the exact amount) you go back for your id secure card and username and stuff

Hi guys, did any of you apply/get this card while using flow? Republic told me that they need your internet bill as part of the application. Why must the card be linked to Blink? I think it's attractive enough without having to be linked with any service provider.

tiger i don't know anything about that. I know there is a card that they partner up with blink and it has its own website or something like that....but you should be able to get it without needing an internet bill

Thanks mimi007 I was indeed really asking about their Internet Credit Card. Went off topic there for a bit. My bad!!! Combination of speed reading and seeing what you yuhself want to see.

I'll still check out the VTM card though to see if it'll be accepted by the online sellers I'm interested in.

you can call the credit card centre( the number is on the back of the card) or try using it in an abm machine, you'll have a pin that they give you with the card, its on one of the documents, see if it works.

My initial question was in relation to their internet credit card not the VTM card. That's why internet bill/ provider question came up. Post was a mix up on my part.

if you got it on a friday, it will be activated the following monday. Happened to me 2 weeks ago. Card works great for my usual merchants. Just I dislike the 5% charge.

yea i got it on friday, i just called the number behind the card and the guy told me its nor activated but there is no name attached to it so i will have to go back into the back and sort that out even though the woman told me it will be activated today.

I'll wait till monday to see if it actives it not i will have to go back

How did you try to load the vtm card the method suggested is that you add it the ist time as a payee...

The charge is 1.15% or 0.0115 of the USD:TTD amount NOT 5%.

Also if signing up with Paypal make it known to them that the card is a US currency card. I had an issue where the charged it in TTD which resulted in me paying more.

I googled VTM help and got this forum topic which was VERY helpful!
My only problem is, when performing thr VTM loading, I am getting an error saying the service is currently unavailable.
Can anyone tell me what this means? How do I know that my card is activated?

Performing a VTM loading where? On your online account?
I used that card on Paypal, and Paypal wont accept it until it's activated, so that's how I knew.
