Coming from the man with the Brasil avatar. Don't say I didn't tell you this they will be a force to be reckoned with. I backed Lakers when Miami went out early but I just think it was a good move. The fellas all took pay cuts to make it happen. The motive behind it is Glory. I am not taking away from Lakers as they have a very well-rounded team but maybe it's your fear that is talking.

Stupes.....all that drama for King Hype. He could've had a press conference with Flash and Bosh to announce this.
I still see them getting their ass kicked by the Celticks and Magic in the East though.

I don't expect them to win next season but they should do well. This had to have been in the works for some time, more thank likely since the Olympics when they played together, they all signed the two year free agent contract and now the time has come. Besides having three big stars like that of the Celtics they need to have a good supporting cast and that will take some time to build. Maybe they can free up some needed cash to get the others. It is all moving in a positive direction and big up to Pat Riley for pulling three big players together. It is also expected that they are not going to be higher scorers in the coming season being that the talent is spread now but at least the team on a whole FGP should rise and make them a contender. People have ranked them as the number one team for the Eastern conference but there is much to be done to back that up.

After this circus frenzy of media hype and silly talks about this being the biggest event of the year, surpassing even the World Cup, I hope they can produce something worthy of a title run. Anything less and people will have a field day with the trio.

I don't know if that will be the case since from reading it looks like they are preapred to play and win together.
Seven years ago they wanted this and planned it so their contracts would expire at the same time. They want this ring.

Meanwhile is celebration in Miami like illegal immigration was made legal :|

This brings back memories of when Houston had Barkley, Olujawon and Drexler in the late 90’s and everyone thought they would be the bomb. Granted they were at the end of their careers but they never even won the West.
Long gone are the days when a team could have one big star and a bunch of role players, nowadays you gotta have at least 3 if u want to compete. Boston and Miami now both have a big 3, LA and Orlando both have two superstars and a few other potential all stars.

Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert
Print RSS Cavs Insider Discuss
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

wow Dan Gilbert's letter is full of disgust and hate towards a man he knew had options, Lebron going Miami doesn't guarantee a title, same way the Cavs can rebuild and win one someday. One thing is for certain tho and I quote:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

^I don't think this will ever happen...

Dan Gilbert was featured this am while i was looking ,that was a purely reactionary statement and clearly not one to take seriously , but generally this did not go well , not to fans in Cleveland who burnt his vest , shits and other memorabilia , but many are commenting on the way it was done in a junior school environment. But yeah , i though he was heading to NY and in a fairly weak east conference more than one power house is need to beef up the east and this move seems to have lumped a group of all stars to one team

3 stars willing to play together does not win a championship. I wonder how the rest of the team will deal with the personalities of said 3 stars.
Big things are expected, but I think it'll be at least 2 years for any real results.

That letter from Gilbert was really out of place. He sounds like a spoilt child that didn't get his way.
LeBron made him rich....and now he takes a paycut to play with wade an bosch (practically making Miami the olympic dream team). That's why you have a contract. 7 years an no championship ? he carried that team....but one man can only do so much...
King or not..lol
The ESPN hour special was a bit much i.m.o and all the drama surrounding it...but say what

Same thing I am thinking. No doubt they may make it fa rin the playoffs but not having proper supporting staff besides the top 3 they will need to grow. They have done this in an effort to bring themselves closer to getting that ring, I don't tihnk I have ever seen this done where the take a pay cut to get that goal and Dwayne Wade already has a ring but he decided to stay with Miami and speak with Chris and Lebron to see what can happen. Right now they are trying to free up more cash to bring some new blood that can work with them. Dwayne Wade, Lebron and Chris are hungry and they are also not greedy on the court, they pull defence and distribute to the ones open, having people double teaming Lebron leaves more than likely Chris or D. Wade open which is always a good thing. Chandler and others need to step up and embrace this opportunity.
