Got my hose yesterday from Trinidad Hose.

Continental contitech blue hose 5/8".

I ended up buying two 75' lengths. The hose was "made to order" in that they cut the length needed and made up the ends.

They ends are made of very high quality brass, best I have seen for a hose ever. I also bought the quick connect to easily couple the hose to get my 150' length when needed and to connect to the pipe. I've found that over time, constantly screwing and unscrewing these brass ends causes wear and tear and leaks over time. But then that was with the lower quality ends you get on the hardware hoses.

The hose itself is very robust and the best I have ever seen. I am hoping this lasts a long time. Plus Trinidad Hose will repair any damages so that's a good thing.

Total cost was $1,465 for the hose with ends and the quick connect fittings (2 EA).

Kinda steep I know, but given what I have spent on hoses for the last few years, this is well worth it if I can get at least 5 years out of them.

I would definitely recommend.

See pics attached. FYI, Trinidad Hose also does a very high quality pressure washer hose rated to 4000 psi. 75ft was for $750. It's a smooth jacket and not the rough one you get with the machines.

I also passed by Allied. They only have the plastic hose reels which I doubt can handle this hose. I priced their garden hoses as well and 100ft "heavy duty" started at $450. That heavy duty hose was no where near this Trinidad Hose hose so IMO, that justifies the spend.

Wife also was surprised at the cost but then said that it's ok as long as it's spent on those types of "hose".

Bought a h/duty hose from A Moses & Sons in 2007... Can't find any markings on it re: brand, but is a five-eights size. Still going good! Cars roll over it in the young years, never got a leak till 2018, just cut and clamp and still working as a carwashing hose now but never had problems.

pricey but it looks like good quality , ur wifey has a good sense of humor

about 10+ yrs ago we took our normal hose for ends by then & it looks very similar to what u got , it was very good brass ends , d ends outlived d hose

like i said on d previous page i dont like hose reels & rather coil them in large 3-4ft diameter , always uncoil ur hose rather than just pull it straight ...

This hose wins. Just washed the yard. Since the jacket is smooth, its easy to pull and drag around corners.

As the rubber is so thick and heavy duty, the hose doesn't want to kink. It will kink, with some serious effort but dragging it around when I was stretching it out, in the areas where it wanted to kink, it didn't and made a small loop instead.

Other new hoses I bought kinked right after unravelling.

Now here is the noticeable part and I kid you not. The flow is more laminar. It's a smooth stream of water and this helps once the nozzle is attached. With my older hoses, the flow was not as laminar and I'd constantly have to adjust and revert the hose tip to get the stream and spray pattern I need for the task. This one I just set my nozzle and the spray pattern remained as I needed for the duration of the task.

Overall a good hose... And good first impressions. If recommend. For smaller yards there is also a 1/2" which I am sure will be also be good.

This is an attachment needed for my black am decker pressure washer. The threading is worn out so when the hose is screwed into it, it comes right back out.
Any idea where to get a local replacement?

I had bought one at priceclub a couple years ago, truper brand, but haven't seen it since. You can check hardwares. Allied had but the ends were male instead of female

you might be able to break off the plastic and clamp on a hose to the metal part.

Normal thing with those plastic quick connectors. You should be able to get brass male and female quick connect couplers at Allied and Trinidad Hose.-

Recommend a brand of toolkits, I need something sturdy that will last for moderate use, but not be too expensive

I once had a fishing tackle box that was quite durable and wasn't bulky like a regular tool kit.

I bought a plastic Stanley from Bhagwansingh's a few years ago. Holds up well, granted it's for tool storage and is mostly in my shed where I go and pull what I need. It's not a toolbox I move with nor does it see regular use like a mechanic's or tradesman's kit. But it works well for me and is holding up.

Where can I find 0.08" (2mm) trimmer string locally? It's for an electric brushcutter.

Many of the local hardware stores sell that diameter line. Bhagwansingh, Peaks, SSL, typically have it available.

Thanks, I thought it may have been an unpopular size. Got it at Allied Home Centre.
