Boy, last month, I got a 11.5KW duramax generator by Pricemart for just under 4K, I considered it a steal of a deal. The 12KW was just under 9K. Last week, I went to PM and the same 12KW generator was just under 6K.
Need it to run a Lincoln stick welder.

where have this for this price still? not seeing anything near 4k with that output, looking for same deal to run a welding plan.
pugboy wrote:how thick is material you welding ?
if light stuff like 1.5mm rhs you could get away with a 5000/6250 using an inverter welding plant
inverters are dc and have capacitors which help buffer the arc strike current surge when you start the arc.
those red lincoln tombstones are transformer based so might pull more current.
they are also heavy no ass, an equivalent inverter is a shoebox.daxt0r wrote:jackal wrote:Generator.jpgpugboy wrote:you need a min 7-8k to run a welder, preferable 8k+timelapse wrote:Anybody tried those Total generators for welding as yet?Might buy one soon

Hmmm never used primer. Used the good ole "christle" solvent and bonds good.pugboy wrote:you dont really need that if you make sure that the sponge rubs the glue in and you can see the pvc outer layer affected by the glue but it takes more time and glue to make sure
if you doing critical stuff like a swimming pool or pipes inside walls then better to be safe and use primer
