interestingly enough Haiti and Chile are both on the 73`W Longitudinal line.

The 73rd meridian west forms a great circle with the 107th meridian east.
The South China sea is on the 107th meridian east.
The South China sea borders Taiwan.

Haiti, Chile and Taiwan are all on the same great circle!!!!

the earth is splitting in two

It is like a football, punch one side and the pressure is felt on the other side. Happens all the time with major earthquakes...
My theory Melting Ice-caps putting added pressure on Earth's tectonic plates. :?
It is called "Isotasy".
And no I'm not mad.

well i have ah theory too,

i believe that we are seeing the build up to the long overdue polar reversal,
what does this have to do with earthquakes?
well it is widely accepted that the earths magnetic field is produced by the hot molten mass of magma that rotates around the stationary super dense metallic core of the planet, thus for there to be shift in polarity it would obviously entail some sort of reversal in the direction of magma movement, as the core is stationary,
now as the crust floats on these magma streams any change in the direction of streams will transfer much stress to the less ducticle elements of the crust causing them to eventually rupture at various points of weekness inorder to allivate the pressures,
image a boat float along a river for thousands of years then suddenly the stream is reversed, now the inital inertia would attempt to propell the boat in its orginal direction, can you inagine the stresses the boat encounters before it eventally aligns itself with the new currents generated by a general chage in direction ?
I think we are in that phase of the reversal right now, as the magma streams chage directions if i am right we sould see the activation of numerous once dormant volcanoes along with many new hot spots, and increased activity at plate boundries, should also see a slow down in rates of subduction at convergent plate boundries.

dude with the global warming thing,
ammmm if the polar ice caps melting would that not alliveate as in reduce the stresses due to the weight of the ice caps at both of the poles and thus distribute this weight more uniformly throughout the worlds oceans, how could global warming add pressure to the plate boundries?
if your theory is that the removal of weight is causing a redistribution of forces thus causing imbalace then, that makes sence to a degree but melting ice will not contribute weight, or are you just caught up in the hype, and blaming global warming for everything.

^^^ this apparently happens to the earth every 28,000 years... the last time was long before recorded history

Next time it happens is 2012

We are yet to see the worst of it I'm afraid

Ever read about Noahs Ark......that was about 25,000 years ago an its recorded. You really think it can really rain that much to flood the whole earth an cover the tallest mountains which would have been taller than our eroded mountains of today

The UN is building some huge ships to use as Arks.
