When is Shivaratri?

to the hindu tuners and those who might be knowledgeable...when exactly is shivatri...is it Thursday or Friday night...thanks.

most temples are celebrating it on Thursday, our temple is on Friday.

I've checked a couple web sites and I saw its being celebrated on the 12th.

I heard @ home it's Thurs/Friday, but up here it's Friday :S There's always that confusion yes :S

I thought it started Thursday night and ends Friday around midday?
