What is the duty/tax on imported phones and on jewelry?

cell phones falls under electronics so i think it is 35%
Breakdown
20% customs tax
15% Vat

Not quite, slow323.

It's 20% on cell phones. VAT is, of course, 15% of the item value including the duty. So if a phone costs $100, the charges are:

Duty (20%) - $20.00
VAT (15%) - 15% of $120 - $18.00

That amounts to 38% of the item value.

Jewelry is 30% duty and 15% VAT. Same principle applies.
