AN East Dry River man, who was recently freed of a murder charge in the Port of Spain Magistrate’s Court, was last night gunned down on Nelson Street, Port of Spain.
Joel ’Ten Cent’ Patino was chased along upper Nelson Street before he was shot dead shortly before 7 p.m., police said.
According to police reports, Patino, who was recently freed on the charge of murdering Sterling ’Eddie Boo’ Trotman, 47, was shot multiple times. He collapsed on the roadway and was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital by residents, but later died.
Police cordoned off an entire city block last night in search for the killer/s who escaped on foot. Up to press time no one had been arrested for the crime.
His killing pushed the murder toll for the year so far to 470, according to an Express tally.
Trotman was also killed along Nelson Street on April 21. He was shot to death near a staircase close to an apartment building on Nelson Street, Port of Spain. He died on the spot.
