Sir James Dyson's latest invention, The Air Multiplier, is a desktop fan without blades. Here he explains to Telegraph TV the technology that makes this possible.

not really impressed.....not at all worth it......

technology should be focused on this area but again sales and marketing companies would throw a sheit load of fuss....the technology it out there but i guess we're not ready to accept it....

was researching this the other day.. doesn't make a lot of sense imo.. looks futuristic and whatnot but i have never had a problem with a conventional fan.. never noticed the 'buffeting effect' as dyson says.. and guess what hidden inside the fan is a blade that sucks air in and pushes it out the airfoil in the top! how else would the air be blown forward?

$200.+ US for that. I will wait for the chiney version. There is not real reason for the high price.

The concept is good, but it's doesn't seem far quieter that a normal fan.
Then the variance is price is way to much.
