usually that's not the case...
my experience.. is that everyone who is in a hurry runs up the left lane till their right behind the backhoe... then they cut in front of the faster moving cars in the right lane... guy slams on the brakes... and it's a trickle effect...
so what you get is TWO lanes of traffic...

then it's not really the fault of the backhoe but the drivers of the other cars that cause the pile up?

not that primitive... the laws actually state the wheel tractors (and mopeds and something else) aren't allowed on highways...

we share the road ways of trinidad with lots of things that should not be there
(people,animals, wrong type of vehicles) but i really don't see the problem with them being there, what i see to be the problem is the amount of drivers and also the type of those drivers......
if those same drivers that in the fast lane were to just slow their pace for a lil while and courteously allow the drivers in the slow lane to overtake the tractor.
Then there would not be a pile up would there?
