WTK: Vehicle leather cleaner

Postby perfect10 » May 28th, 2009, 6:25 pm

I am not astute when it comes to vehicles or anything about them so I need some help. I'm looking for a superb, heavy duty cleaner for the leather upholstery in my vehicle or a place I can go to have it cleaned really well. The leather which was once a strong black colour looks a bit dull especially in the back seat where other people sit and have occasionally spilt stuff (drinks, food, etc) which was just cleaned in a regular hygienic manner. The vehicle is about two years old and I want the interior to look completely new once again as I never really did an inside cleaning or "shining" of the upholstery since it was bought. So if anyhone has an idea of what I should buy or who I should take it to, please point me in the direction.

oh....the leather seats are indeed headache

I use Turtle Wax, leather cleaner and conditioner, gives a nice shine

good luck with finding a place, and when ure done, go PriceSmart and buy yourself the car seat cover set, it works wonders!

yep ive been using this on my seats ever since cleans really well. The advantage of this over mothers is that its a cleaner and conditioner in one.

I have never tried mothers too much work to do.......clean seats with cleaner then use conditioneer. So i just clean once with Turtle wax.

If your leather is really bad there are persons that do repairs....not that i know of any just have to ask around.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions! May I ask what is mothers? I'm not familiar with this and where do I get mothers products or turtle wax? Also how does one repair leather? Mine just looks a bit dull, don't think or know if repairs are needed. Still would like to know how are leather seats repaired though out of curiousity.

Cute corolla,
Thanks so much for the car seat suggestion, what material are the car seat covers made from and can you get them for the back seat as well?

in the West try Car Boutique on the WMR opposite the Police Barracks, in the East, Bobby's in the bamboo as well as most popular auto shops on the EMR, Central try Glen's, South try Sherriffs auto supplies

Frankly Mother's is so popular you can get it at most auto shops

Make sure you condition it after you clean it as it may eventually harden, crack and make you have to get the whole seat/interior part redone.

BTW, M's,FTMFW IMO!!
