Postby crazychinee » January 13th, 2009, 5:44 pm

Having alot of problems with an upgrade..wifi not working ,bluetooth not working..Edge constantly on.

Anyone ever had this probelm or knows how to solve it?

Upgrade from 1.12 to 2.1..

Looks like baseband is corrupted?

Saw a very COMPLEX fix, with VTM terminal, by using ibooterwin , and a few other things...got half way confused with the instructions.

if you took it to the apple store they would give you a new one ya know, incompetence is covered by the warranty.

nope that wouldnt work either. its really simple to upgrade the bootloader. You need to use pwnagetool and create a custom firmware that will do it.

stay with 1.*
2.* on 2g is rather slow
most 2g owners too shame to admit it though

Will that work to upgrade/overwrite the bootloader?
It's on 3.9 , 4.6 as per the last upgrade..

you need to backtrack and get an idea of what bootloader and baseband the phone is at or think its at and work from there
99% of those upgrade failures invoice something along those lines.
You could try and downgrade to 1.1.4 and use kiphone to downgrade the baseband
since it would have been upgraded with the 2.*

yea..hmf,

What's the custom firmware about?
If i create custom 2.0.2 firmware, with the 3.9 and 4.6 files and try restoring + jailbreaking..is that safe?

or just get the standard apple 2.0.2 and use quickpwn after it restores?
