Beta versions were given out over a month ago ae. My kid brother has been using it like an idiot for near 2 months now :P
Yeah, it's vista , but faster.

The version given out at PDC about 2 months ago wasn't beta, it was actually a pre beta/M3 build

The new build being given out shortly is the beta. The present build looks a bit like Vista, simply because the early releases don't include the updated UI.

It is faster and can run on lower hardware requirements, the PDC demo was done on Asus Eee PC with 1gb RAM.

As I posted on other MS forums... it looks like they cross KDE with MacOS X. What hardware you got?

reddo... check out KDE and see if MS ain't copy a lot from it.
