a car of lesser HP will sometimes be "faster" than one with more, note, this have nothing to do with 2 or 4 wheel drive, so if the same 450bhp was in a other s14, the out come may have been the same...

sometimes less is more

to get 850 bhp efficiently from the motor --> tyres is a very difficult task.
