However coilpack were going before as I realised there was slight misfire with cng but not with gas. The cng is precise and shows up any weak areas in your engine e.g. overheating. All my mounts were bad due to jerking until I regapped and cleaned maf and throttle body .
So
Regap your plugs between 0.8 to 1.1 terrific acceleration under cng
Clean your maf sensor and throttle body
Change plugs
Very important. Don't be cheap and use super gas. Run the premium and enjoy cleaner internal and injectors . When using cng and your injectors just dribbling to maintain idle super IS going to clog it and affect idle issues and performance
I have qr20 engine. I am due to service and car running excellent. I informed my neighbour about the gapping after he waste money twice on changingToyota coilpacks and plugs
The biggest issue with CNG or LPG is distribution. CNG does lower emissions but does not drastically lower emissions. For commercial and maritime large displacement engines, CNG makes for a positive environmental and financial choice. CNG for personal use? Not so good a solution.timelapse wrote:CNG was never a good long term investment.
Thats just adding a plaster to a sore. What we need is a cheaper electricity alternative and more efficient EVs.Before Zoom chimes in about 'carts', drink your coffee and mind your goats.
NGC CNG
As we work to improve the supply network across the country, here are the locations of the 11 public CNG filling stations.

On what vehicle?1/4 mile king wrote:I recently installed a cng kit. From less than average 2km per dollar on premium gasoline ($7.75/litre) to around average 12km/$$ (or litre) on cng. I do hope the cng price doesn't increase or remains $1/litre. I turn off the cng and use pure gasoline when the additional power is needed (i rarely do this). I rather cng atm since my knowledge on electric vehicles is limited. I can easily diagnose issues without going by a technician who can probably trick me into paying for unnecessary services.

That could be as much as five years
Hope your vehicle holds up for that period
If you get in accident or need major repairs and have to sell you will have lost money
Remember all during the payback period you will be in the red
Did he/she apply for said tax credit?Rory Phoulorie wrote:PariaMan wrote:Calculate your average yearly milage should not be to difficult and then the total gas you would spend then consider ratio gas to cng in percentage you will be using. Then get your payback period

In that calculation, doesn't he/she need to factor in the tax credit that he/she would be entitled to for the year in which the system was installed?

Seems a bit risky on a nine year lod vehicle

12km/$ CNG and 2km/$ Premium is 8.3¢/km CNG and 50¢/km Premium
Assume the average cost of conversion is $15,000 and maximum tax credit is $2,500.
The average driver travels 20,000 km/yr, with a less frequent driver travelling 13,000km/year and more frequent driver travelling 27,000km/yr
An infrequent driver will have a payback period of 2.8 yrs or 2.3 yrs with tax rebate.
An average driver will have a payback period of 1.8 yrs or 1.5 yrs with tax rebate.
A more frequent driver will have a payback period of 1.3 yrs or 1.1 yrs with tax rebate.
edit: a five year payback period occurs if the OP is driving 5200km/yr (3200 miles/year).

Doubt that will be the case
People generally get fed up going gas station every two days

1/4 mile king wrote:Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Yes I use cng all the time now. I used to put average $330 premium gasoline every 5 to 6 days. I live central (refill stations nearby) and I always keep topping up the tank (daily) to avoid running on gasoline. I only use gasoline for engine warm up and sudden high acceleration etc ( barely use it at all ). I badly need to make this investment work .
Money >> time1/4 mile king wrote:Average Daily cng used = $8= 88km. So 8×365= $2920/year. Today was average driving throughout the year on cng only all day.
88km @ less than 2KM/$ Premium gasoline ($7.75/litre) =
more than $44 daily= more than $16060 yearly.
16060-2920= >$13140 saved end of year running on cng only. Doesn't include additional maintenance due to cng system nor tax credit. Hitting Manzanilla weekend from central. Topping up the tank at tumpuna road arima to and from. Cng throughout from now on. So even more savings per year by avoiding premium gasoline. MAJOR DRAWBACK IS FREQUENT VISITS TO TOP UP BUT I RATHER SAVE $ MORE THAN TIME.
