USA will dominate in number of medals. They always do, but remember they usually send up the largest contingent.

Jamaica should also do well this Olympics especially in track & field.

jamaica only have athletes in trackand field...more specifically only on the track...field events not so much...but after that thas it. I am interested only in whether trinidad goin to get the medal in the 4x100m relay...they have the second fastest time of the year i think...as for the 100m, i just hop all three of them fellas get into the final...thas good enuff for me...a medal would be a HUGE plus

China right behind them in the medal race..will be close..and for the Chinese anything less than gold is considered failure.

but
Striker Lionel Messi starred for Argentina in their opening Olympic victory after his club Barcelona cleared him to play.

You can check the link below for day by day TV coverage of the Olympics. The opening ceremony actually begins around 9am tomorrow but NBC seems to be broadcasting it in the night.

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijin ... v6bp5taJh4

The BBC website below may be better, it shows the actual times for each event and not necessarily when it will be broadcast. Just subtract 4 hours from the times listed there.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/olympic ... efault.stm

You can download the TVUplayer if you have broadband internet, some of the sports channels may have coverage. There is also livefooty.doctor-serv.com which I use for football but they also have live streaming of other sports.

 ... absolutely stunning opening ceremony! Remarkable blend of old technologies with the new...light and dark...yin/yang... :D

I'm sorry for the following hosts. They'll have to enlist the help of the good Lord himself to top that... 8-)

Opening ceremony was beyond excellent.

The "human LCD" was the best part imo.

American swimmer Michael Phelps stormed to victory in the Olympic 400m individual medley, and broke his own world record in the process.
