mostly for recreational/outdoor use, car shows etc. If i want to get into it more seriously i want to be able to simply upgrade lenses initially.
max budget, about US$500 for cam and lens.
Any advice will be appreciated.
There are some pretty sweet canon t5 bundles with 2 lenses on amazon now for about your price range.
On the nikon side, the d3300 is good, but i would spring extra for the d5200,d5300,d5500 once you can get it on a good deal.
Ultimately if i were in your position and know now back then i would buy a used but good condition body either locally or from online and invest in a couple good lenses and start there.
But based on what i have just seen on amazon the t5 kit seems to be good value for money. Here is the link
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Cam ... s=canon+t5
Oh btw, i hope you arent thinking of bringing this through a skybox! That wont be a good idea.

Is it economical to bring down a dslr via skybox. I am interested in purchasing a canon t6 rebel from Amazon for$470 us, which is about $3400.00 TT. What might be the cost to ship and clear this item ? Pricesmart has this camera for $5600.00 tt. Where will it be cheaper to purchase ? And finally is the canon rebel t6 worth this cost
