Postby Silvermike » February 26th, 2007, 9:40 pm

do they suffer from the pinging that badly? for the 2nd time i ran pretty well against a claimed sti (brembos, scoop, tbe, gold 17's etc) with my civic.

silvermike - not denying your civic is pretty quick, but even if it was a McLaren F1 on the side of you if he had a 180 speed trip then he would have to fall back - hell it could have been the concord!

we ran from grand bazaar to chag. where i turned.

he tried to shake me in traffic and i was on him... he was pullin on me in 3rd ... puffs of black smoke, loud exhaust note, fast shifts... he was racing something, of not me.

i got infront of him when the lanes merged into 2 by price plaza.

got a strech on the left, i went balls out starting @ 75mph in 3rd.. he wa son my bumper.... i switched into 4th@95mph just as he pulled on the right to pass me, gained until his front bumper was at my driver door, he hit his limiter and fell back

    what a title to cause bachanal...

Good question Duane. But I wouldn't doubt Silvermike so much...I was driving the ol 500 SEC Benz and had no problems keeping up with a Blue STI while I was home over Christmas. And Mike's Vi keeps up with the Benz. I believe Pornstar wash him as well..PB* 666...blue sti with Subaru written in Gold on the body.

Same scooby mike?

I've seen first hand how the Ecu on the WRX redards ignition as the IAM (Ignition Advance Multiplier) drops. total is 16...starts at 12 I believe....when you start to knock...the number drops down to 10....pulling more timing.

A lot of STI's that aren't flashed probably suffer from this.
