Depending on the outcome of the cup qualifiers....then I'd decide if to officially give up on west indies cricket.

And herein is the conundrum
The cost to develop a cricketer through the system is astronomical
U16, U19, coaching and training camps, running First class competitions etc. Why should the board pump its scarce money into developing players only for them to go play in other countries leagues?

IMO (and this is why I am probably more critical of the players than most in here and call Bravo et all T20 mercenaries) despite the need to secure their futures they only have it because of all the resources given to them by the very same board they hate.

Its kinna like receiving a scholarship from the Govnt and never working in the country.

The pool of wi players making it outside t20 kinda stagnant though.
Not many new West Indians making it out there on t20 like the original set
Of bravo, pollard etc.

Aspiring t20 players might have to try their luck in lower leagues like Bangladesh to get noticed.

The only newbie I could see reaching somewhere is Lewis...Gayle might play his last Ipl this year and well the usual crew would hang around for some time...

It's a tough market to break in
The initial bunch of wi t20 guys are mostly lucky graduates stemming from Stanford days
Wi has been all down hill since

Its probably a reality of the economics.
IIRC somewhere there was an article that not all the IPL teams made profits by the time IPL 8 rolled around. I think KKR did (Shah Rukh and Juhi Chalwa made a difference there) but even Mumbai and Chennai did not and thats with being past winners and located in two of India's biggest cities.

NEW DELHI | MUMBAI: The star power of owner Shah Rukh Khan and consistent on-field performance in recent years have catapulted Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders into the profit zone even as most other franchises of the popular twenty20 tournament are yet to hit pay dirt. Kolkata Knight Riders, or KKR, posted the highest revenues among all IPL teams in 2014-15, the last year for which data was available, when it posted 30% growth in revenues and 54% jump in profits despite the fact ..

On the local scene....losing by one wicket to the leewards was more than disappointing....Red Force real fail there.....after having a first innings lead.....

At yet....darren bravo is still not being included in the team.....is he being shun by the local board as well...?

The moment I saw Indian bowlers getting swing in the first innings I realized they were in trouble because as good as Bumrah and Kumar are Philander and Morkel are better.
As England In Australia also showed...exceptional home performing teams do not make good travellers.
