The fact is Franklin Khan has been minister of energy from 31st October 2016 to 9th August 2020, and then from 19th August 2020 to present. That's 4+ years where the PNM has been in control since Sept 2015 which is 5+ years. Khan might be a nice guy in person and does have some experience in the energy sector but there is no doubt that he is the worst energy minister in recent memory where actual energy technocrats in the industry have little respect for him. Rowley had the opportunity to appoint someone new for the ministry after the 2020 General Elections but he did not which says a lot.

And just like I told the other guy, Franklin Khan and nearly every minister of Energy in most O&G producing countries would have to be the worst energy minister too. The energy markets suffered a shock in 2014 and haven't recovered since. It even takes 5 years to bring a field into production, so blaming Khan who has only been there for 4yrs is kinda stupid.

There is no magician to turn around TT's energy sector when the external forces are against us.

Petrotrin still exists, it never stopped existing. It is now a subsidiary of Trinidad Petroleum Holdings Ltd along with Heritage, Paria and Guaracara. As you rightly pointed out before, salaries in Petrotrin were 52% of expenditure there had to be a mechanism to control salaries and not encumber the company with obligations. So everybody was fired, the loss making refinery was closed and everybody received their due payout. Heritage and Paria hired 70% former Petrotrin employees and both companies despite predictions of gloom and doom have been making healthy profits. Khan did what everybody else was afraid to do and that is restructure the national oil company and return it to profitability.

Secondly, the man went with the PM to EOG in Houston, BP in London, Shell in Netherlands and just come back from Ghana before the lockdown. Why you lying and saying he is not there as MoE when he actually is? You feel he is Vidwatee Newton?

As far as I am aware,Basdeo Panday was leader of the UNC in 2002.
Kam!a became political leader on March 24 th,2010,when she defeated Bas in the internal elections.
Patrick Manning called a snap election and was soundly beaten thereby catapulting Kamla into the PM's chair !
