I would have returned that phone and ask for my money back, because the contract says "New Blackberry xxxx" I wouldn't have even wanted another phone because I wouldn't trust that it was new either.

Yooo anyone ever installed a hybrid OS on a bb curve 8520 ? im thinking about trying this out but im not sure how to do it because i see the file is 35 mb and im accustom to OS files being over 100 mb for my curve 8520

instructiion
1. instal : OS BASE
2. instal Alexander_Ekin Hybrids V246
3. delete vendor xml
4. backup ur device with dekstop manager
5. backup ur apps with BBSAK 1.8
6. wipe ur device with security wipe(go to option-security option-security wipe chose email and user installed app) after finish do wipe device with BBSAK or jl cmder
7. launch loader.exe
8. IF DONE, do security wipe again before restore apps and data.
9. restore apps, if done do hard reset with replace battery
10. ENJOY WITH THIS OS. thanks

Whats the latest OS for bb 8520? online i see the v5.0.0.822 but a padna of mine got a friend to upgrade his to 5.0.0.862 ......i can't see how its possible because all the 5.0.0.862 OS 's i came across are for the 9700 if im not mistaken.

@ NiTrOuS RaCeR, a bb stab yuh in d back orr. if you see something that beyond its time its probably a hybrid, do more reading and less asking. i does help ppl who need help but yuh soundin like yuh wah a man do it fuh yuh. if yuh haz a paypal i could do the full upgrade.

Soooooo, need to replace my 8900 screen

I at least hope that is all, it had a small fall, I can receive calls and that is it. Can anyone suggest a place in the east that would be able to do this? Any idea how long it would take, and price?

I figured I could, was looking for a guide on iFixit, but I'd still need to get ahold of a screen, preferably ASAP - anywhere locally for that? Guy told me $600 in a mall, but they didn't have any, so it was a guestimate. Looking for tuner wisdom.
