Yeah boy....first time I've seen sammy expressionless and looking like a lil kid who just lost his favourite toy....

But they have good enough names there....Watson sammy. Samuels...Fletcher...Johnson Charles .etc......but they still can't beat anyone....
It's probably so disappointing for.the fans.....

In every game!!!!

I see they have a mathematical chance of direct qualification for the WC. If they win all 6 ODIs that follows the test series (against England and Ireland) and Sri Lanka doesn't win at least two ODIs against India in their series then WI qualifies above Sri Lanka as the 8th placed team for the world cup.

I can't see WI easily beating Ireland though much less whitewashing England in that series.

England giving Barbados a good working over. My bad I mean WI. Cozier Mussbe jumping up in his grave 8 bajans on the team.

Rant:

What kind of pothound side we send to England?

WI - 2nd Innings - 137/9. About 200 needed again for England to bat.

Fire Roddy Estwick (bowling coach).

Fire whoever the hell is the batting coach.

Send back dem bunch ah pothound batmen and bowlers.

Andy Roberts was so right. Who is this WI side?

Rant done.

England win by Innings and 209 runs.

WI lose 19 wickets in 1 day. Total loss on 3rd day.

WI bat 47 overs in 1st innings and 45.1 overs in 2nd innings in a TEST Match.

They did not even bat out a 50 overs in either innings.

So they are pathetic as a 1 day side as well.

The fortunes of WI on this tour of England requires all West Indians to recognize that this can only be about exposure.
Expectations should really be bench-marked at 0.
Subjecting the players to any standards is only going to result in mental and emotional anguish for all concerned.

Umpiring was quite suspect from game 1 in the cpl.

Where did they get those umpires from?

Are they really qualified? And there is minimum use of technology as well.

Whats the sense in sending a very week team to England when all the good players are in the cpl?
i wish them luck and hope they can make a name for themselves . but soon it looks like we will be last on the table . Remember the days when we were no 1.

As Fazeer pointed out yesterday morning, to be fair to the team currently there Full strength WI teams including with Lara been coming to England before and still losing and losing big. 1 test win there since 1996 by WI.

Kraigg Braithwaite reported for suspect bowling action.
Just when you thought this tour has reached a nadir there are still some depth to sink too apparently.

Some insightful reads below -

But within all those articles bashing the WI there are some very salient points. The ones I find insightful are -
1. WI abject a long time now having not beaten any team outside of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in an away series since 1995.
2. WI last won a test in England in June 2000. 18 tests since then have resulted in 15 losses and 3 draws (two of which were rain affected)
3. Administration of the sport sucks in the Caribbean. Vaughan said he visited Barbados last year to view and U19 series and he couldn't believe how bad the training set up was

Factors not really highlighted - Players just don't seem to really care particularly for tests.
Not enough is said about player apathy.
For those that watching cricket long time how may times have you seen Sarwan out pulling/hooking? I like the guy as a batsman but as an intelligent cricketer he never cut that low percentage shot out. Very frustrating.

But in Sehwag's case he statistically made much more runs by the time he did play his poor shot. This is a man with two test triples centuries and four test double hundreds (Laraesque) along with 17 other hundreds with a test average of 49.34 over 100+tests.

Meanwhile Sarwan averaged 40.01 over 87 tests with two double hundreds in his 15 centuries.

Sehwag also had the comfort of Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Ganguly coming after him in the order. Sarwan never had that level of class follow him up.
