Three 1+ hr sessions, crappy bait other than fiddler crabs (which on a small boat are not easy to single out) but did get a 3 lb carite on a top water rattle rapalla. Fresh broth real lash!

Less is more when kayak fishing, had my first re-entry capsize. Only lost some weights thankfully. Heavy wind, and a minor under current made me drift a lot...need to get a small sand anchor and start marking some banks. But just trolling along the shoreline provided a few strikes.

d broth look good

Keeping a 100yd radius right around the 2nd and 3rd bocas sure to produce, kings stack up in the second when they're thick, the reef ledges there hold a lot of life when the fish scanty, the banks fall off into some serious depths right next to shore.

yes boy it was alive. I was actually up on Monos looking down at the first, I was opposite L'anse paoua. The manatee surfaced for a long while, took some air and went back down. I could see its front flippers and wrinkle up face clearly. This was back in 92/93 though.

I see porpoises all the time, and I have seen sharks in the North and Gulf as well, but this manatee was the strangest by far.

Failure in the gulf today

Come home with a 1 cook "soup pack"
Throw back about 5 catfish of varying sizes
Caught a remora about 2ft long....threw it back also....

Padna caught a really nice mangrove snapper about 5lbs

Cousin caught a 12lb shark

Next cousin caught a crappo fish about 15lbs
Thing was huge...and ugly....
Threw that back...

Overall...failure!
