3 cops injured in crash, one on life support
Three on duty police officers suffered serious injuries after the marked vehicle they were travelling in got into an accident whilst they were proceeding in a southerly direction along the Uriah Butler Highway, in the vicinity of the Caroni Overpass. The incident occurred at around 4:30a.m today, involving No 18795 PC Rawle Hercules, No 18833 PC Clive Duntin and 19722 PC Corey Williams. Eyewitness reports suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle after it picked up a skid causing it to flip landing in a drain on the eastern side of the highway. With the assistance of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service personnel, the officers were removed from the wreckage and taken to the Mt. Hope Medical Hospital for emergency treatment. PC Hercules is currently on life support after both of his lungs collapsed; PC Duntin, suffered injuries to his left leg and right eye and PC Williams sustained injuries to the back of the head. The officers are considered young members of the TTPS with PC Hercules having been on the job for 3 years; PC Duntin 2.6 years and PC Williams who is among the latest enlistment having only served 6 months.
