I think you should buy regular trident z ddr4 and spend the extra money on a gtx 1060

Good day master race,

Have a new problem now, when watching videos the CPU reaches 100%. This never happened before, YouTube at 4k and the processor would hover between 5-10%

Any ideas on the cause?

A program is running in background or updates are installing probably. ...check your task manager to see which program(s) is using the most of the cpu

What media player you're using? Try another perhaps and see what's going on

If it's video from Web (youtube) then try updating you Web browser
You can also try this:
Open task manager click process
Choose Internet Explorer and click on it
On the drop down box choose affinity
Then uncheck some of the cores for eg:
If it's 4 cores deselect 2
Let me know if this works

Can you link a couple of the videos so we can give it a spin on our own setups.

Regarding the cable...
That cable will be very difficult to come by as dvi-d to VGA requires active conversion of the signal. Most companies locally sell the dvi-i to VGA as this simply passes the analog signal along 4 extra pins around the spade
They are available online

That CPU Spike with YouTube issue, I have that as well, no matter what browser I use, it uses CPU processing for the videos. Using a media player for files does not have this problem

I supposed to have a few brand new DVI to VGA connectors, will check when I get home

My setup fluctuates between 46 to 90%...I however do not feed a 4k monitor.

Core i3 6100
Radeon hd 7790

I usually watch at 720 and the CPU is between 20-35%

It seems he is trying to convert dvi-d to VGA.... The above adapters will not work if that is the case as those are dvi-i to VGA adapters.

It's the update in Chrome perhaps....open chrome and click on the three dots on the right top corner of chrome
Click settings
On the top left click about and update

My problem seems to be a little different, seems that with "hardware acceleration" in that sometimes even with it on youtube will use the processor for the video and not the GPU. If that makes sense

I am unaware if this still applies and I haven't checked it with my system... But it can be the reason for the varying CPU usage scenarios. Thanks for bringing it up src1983

so i just upgraded to windows 10 and the CPU usage while watching videos issue is gone, CPU is now at around 40-50% when watching youtube videos at 4k or 60fps, so thats good.
but ran into another problem now, one of my video cards not supported by windows 10, it too old -_-
so i looking for a replacement card, looking in the classifieds but not seeing anything for sale. so i might bring in one
